Traumatic experiences in students’ lives can overwhelm their capacity to cope and ultimately, their capacity to learn, succeed, and thrive. School staff are an integral community support system that have a sizable role to play in reversing the negative impacts of adverse childhood experiences.

Join other educators from around the state to watch a set of documentaries that help us better understand trauma, how it impacts our bodies and brains, and what we can do as educators. Film clubs include watching the film and engaging in a discussion led by a fellow OEA member. There are specific film clubs for ESPs, K12 educators, and community college faculty and staff.

Film clubs are flexible: You can register for one film or all three! Participants will receive a link to view the film on their own and then will join the scheduled live discussions. Participants can earn 1 PDU for each discussion.
