SEL: Self-Awareness

Self-awareness is one of five competencies designated by The Collaborative for Academic Social, and Emotional Learning as crucial to effective social and emotional learning for children and adults. In this foundational SEL tutorial, learners gain a better understanding of their emotions, thoughts, behaviors, values, strengths, and challenges. The module introduces concepts and strategies for self-perception, self-efficacy, and self-confidence. Participants can earn 2 PDUs for completing this independent study opportunity.

SEL: Relationship Skills

This self-paced independent study module will guide educators through learning about relationship skills. The module covers topics and activities that are key to building, maintaining, and restoring relationships: expressing care, building trust, listening, challenging growth, sharing power, and expanding possibilities. Learners will have the opportunity to reflect on their own relationships as well as their students' relationships. Participants can earn 2 PDUs for completing this independent study opportunity.

Teaching Students with Autism Spectrum Disorder

In this self-paced module you will examine Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD) and better understand the characteristics, tools, ideas, and supports for working with students that are on the Autism Spectrum.

Learning Outcomes:

Understand the impacts of autism spectrum disorder (ASD).
Understand Ableism and inclusive language.
Maintain a strengths-based approach to meeting student needs.
Understand Universal Design for Learning (UDL) strategies.
Determine appropriate accommodations and modifications for students with 504 plans and IEP's.

Remote Learning


Trauma Informed Remote Learning

This self-paced module is an introduction to trauma informed pedagogy with a special focus on remote/distance learning. Most people take between 45-120 minutes to complete the module depending on how much time is spent reviewing the supplemental resources included in the tutorial. It is entirely self-paced, does not include a facilitator, and does not involve interaction with other participants. Communication and Collaboration Tools for Remote Learning

This self-paced module will guide educators through the many options for online collaboration and communication with students, families, and colleagues. You will learn the basics of available online platforms to collaborate and communicate online, including virtual meetings, messaging, screencasts, structural platforms, appointment tools, and content creation tools. The following are some of the tools introduced in this tutorial: Class DoJo, Remind, Zoom, Google Meets, Screencastify, Weebly, Google Sites, EdPuzzle, Google Forms, Sign Up Genious, Kahoot, Quizziz, Flipgrid, Padlet, Voki, Animoto, Word Clouds, Voice Thread, and Scratch.
