Independent Study

Professional learning- at your own pace.
Are you looking for a way to grow your professional practice on your own timeline in independent study? Are you interested in earning PDUs or graduate credits? OEA independent study options allow you to do just this.
All of these opportunities are offered free as a benefit of membership. One semester graduate credit is an option for micro-credentials and our academic partner charges $50 per credit. Our current offerings for Independent Study include:

Micro-Credentials

NEA offers over 175 micro-credentials that have been created by educators for educators. OEA offers members PDUs or graduate credit for their completed micro-credential.

Self-Paced Modules

Self-Paced Modules allow OEA members to earn PDUs at their own pace - there is no facilitator and no time limit.

Webinar Archive

Members can access previous professional learning and informational webinars at any time.

The Oregon Education Association (OEA) is a union committed to the cause of providing the basic right of great public education to every student. OEA represents about 41,000 educators working in pre-kindergarten through grade 12 public schools and community colleges. OEA’s membership includes licensed teachers and specialists, classified/education support professionals (ESPs), community college faculty, retired educators, and student members.
