Paula DePass Dennis

Paula DePass Dennis has been an educator in Portland Public Schools since 1989. She started as a bus driver while putting herself through school. She has taught high school and middle school but spent most of her time between 4th and 5th grade classrooms. Between 2007-2017 Paula worked in the Equity and Partnerships Department at PPS as an Equity TOSA. In that role she facilitated a 2-day training called Beyond Diversity for all employee groups. Additionally she coached teachers around their racial equity practices in their classrooms. With the elimination of the Equity Department in PPS, Paula has returned to the classroom teaching 5th grade.
