Nedra Miller has been an educator in Portland Public Schools since 2018. While at PPS Nedra has taught 2nd grade, served on her school's Racial Equity, Black Lives Matter, and Instructional Leadership committees, and has been a Building Rep. In addition, Nedra is co-chairing Portland Association of Teacher’s Racial Equity Committee for the second year. Before PPS she worked with Providence Child Development Center, Nike Child Development Center, and Albina Head Start from 2006-2017.
An OEA NEON participant, she has found a great interest in facilitating OEA’s Equity SPARKS Retreats for BIPOC Educators and serving underrepresented and underserved communities. Her favorite thing to do is travel with her husband of 20+ years, along with their son and daughter. She may also be found in her garden or in anyone’s steam room.
