Jean Mittelstaedt teaches composition at Chemeketa Community College. She has also taught middle school and high school English. She has a BS. Ed. from Western Oregon University and an MAT and an MA, both in English, from Portland State University. Her professional interests include community in American literature, the teaching of writing, and the use of technology in education.
