Alfonso Ramirez has over 25 years experience working with vulnerable children, youth and families as a Public and Charter School Math and Science Teacher, a Mental Health Clinician, and a Program Administrator in various non-profits. Before serving as a Trauma Informed Schools Coordinator, he managed the Children and Families Behavioral Health Services Unit at the Oregon Health Authority. He holds a Bachelor's degree in Education and a Master's Degree in Counseling Psychology. Alfonso successfully led a three-year Trauma Informed Schools Pilot Project, the first of its kind in a large comprehensive high school of 2,000 students. He is trained in trauma informed practices through the Neurosequential Model of Therapeutics and the Sanctuary Institute Model.
