On this date in 1921 a civic organization formed by Mexican Americans in San Antonio, Texas formed the Order of the Sons of America, (Orden Hijos de America). This organization soon spread to other states in the country with the goal of protecting and promoting the interests of Mexican American citizens and to fight discrimination against them.
