This webinar will share strategies, resources, and opportunities to support Oregon school staff in strengthening mental health in education. It will summarize the Oregon Department of Education's current federally funded efforts to strengthen statewide mental health literacy and develop mental health professional learning. ODE staff will present a summary of Oregon Classroom WISE, a suite of resources including free, online, self-guided modules, a host of print and video resources, guided tutorials and role plays, and interviews with youth and school staff. The content covers many important topics such as how to build safe, healthy relationships, best practices for supporting children and adolescents experiencing life challenges and distress, and skills for handling challenging behaviors.
