Jeffrey Austin's writing, advocacy, and practice focus on building humanized, student-centered spaces through culturally responsive curriculum and pedagogy, fair and equitable grading and assessment practices, and transformative justice. Jeff was named one of the first members of the State of Michigan’s Innovative Educator Corps in 2018, and he used the position to help grow the number of secondary school writing centers in Michigan.
