Instructional Technology and Online Course Design for Community College Educators

Back by popular demand, this 8-week online course is designed for community college educators who want to learn how to better design and facilitate online learning in blended or fully online courses. The course, designed and taught by community college members, introduces participants to current online course design methods along with current instructional technology in education; emphasizes research-based practices for online course design and student engagement; and outlines methods to evaluate, select, and implement appropriate technology in an instructional setting. Participants will start a course design document and build individual components for their current or future online course. You can access the syllabus online. The course will be instructed by Colin Stapp, Chemeketa Community College. Three graduate credits are available and optional from Western Oregon University.
