An 8-week online course designed for community college educators who want to learn how to better design and facilitate online learning in hybrid/hyflex, remote, or online courses. While the focus is on strategies used in higher education, the course is open to ALL members and most of the concepts apply in a secondary setting. Designed and taught by community college members, this course introduces participants to current online course design methods along with current instructional technology in education; emphasizes research-based practices for online course design and student engagement; and outlines methods to evaluate, select, and implement appropriate technology in an instructional setting. Participants will start a course design document and build individual components for their current or future online course. This course can be completed entirely asynchronously. Three graduate credits are available and optional for those who complete the course. The syllabus is available to preview.
