Educators will consider tools and perspectives for Ethnic Studies-centered teaching, and then choose a known or aspirational 2 to 6 week unit incorporating their learning. Coaching and dialogue will occur iteratively one-on-one and in whole group sharing. In this six-week virtual learning community (VLC), participants will build their Ethnic Studies lens, identify relevant texts using their Ethnic Studies lens, and develop a one-unit Ethnic Studies plan. There will be three live sessions in August on Tuesdays at 10 a.m. (August 3, 10, & 17) and weekly videos and activities to be completed independently. Participants can expect to spend approximately 2-3 hours per week in this VLC. This opportunity is appropriate for both K-12 and community college educators. PDUs are available.
