This course will explore compassion and self-compassion practices through the lens of mindfulness. We will widen our window of tolerance for stress and difficult emotions by connecting to inner resources and developing self-compassion, while exploring compassion as the antidote to burnout and secondary trauma. This class will weave together modern scientific insights with traditional practices and give you tangible tools for not only self-care but to expand your capacity for the difficulties of the work we do as educators. Due to the relational and experiential nature of this course, participants are expected to attend at least 3 out of 4 of the live sessions. There will be opportunities to engage in forum discussions with fellow participants between live sessions for additional PDUs.
