Student engagement in face to face, hybrid, or virtual classrooms remains a high priority for educators working with students. As educators build and maintain virtual spaces, this session will help participants develop or improve on social and emotional learning practices at a distance. With an emphasis on communication, non-verbal gestures, and questioning strategies, participants will work to improve emotional intelligence – or EQ – within themselves and their instructional practice. Building relationships and making connections is critical in these unprecedented times and by doing so, we can increase student engagement in learning.
